HOW TO APPLY THERMAMARK

The importance of application is key to the performance of the product.

Whilst it is a simple process, care is needed to make sure that the below steps are followed for every application.

STEP 1

Prior to application ensure you have the following.

  1. Gas Torch
  2. Tape Measure
  3. PPE
  4. Primer (ProTack, UniPrime)
  5. Road Crayon
  6. Broom
  7. ThermaMark Preformed Marking

Ensure the surface is sound, clean and free from grease, oil, rust, scale, dirt, or any other soiling that might affect adhesion.

STEP 2

Depending on the systems, lay out and pre-mark using Meon Road Crayons to show where the product will be installed then
place marking to one side.

Use Meon ProTack aerosol primer or Meon UniPrime X450 (for larger application) for improved
adhesion and longevity.

STEP 3

Using a gas torch, it is important to pre-heat surface where the product is to be laid to remove any moisture and provide a warm surface to enable bonding. Please read product data sheet to ensure you are familiar with the effects of surface heating and moisture

Place the marking in position and use the gas torch to heat. Move the torch side-to-side over the marking, holding upright and no closer than 150mm. Avoid holding the torch in one place, as this will cause the thermoplastic to scorch.

STEP 4

You will notice the product beginning to shrink/
melt into the surface profile. The edges will also ‘bevel off’ as it melts. Apply heat until the whole area is fully bonded to the surface. Ensure all colours are bonded together.

The product can be trafficked as soon as it
has cooled to ambient temperature.
